Personal Life
Frederick was born to Charles Holmes and Amelia Holmes (nee Darwin) in 1950 in Lincolnshire. Both of his parents were killed in a car accident in 1970, when he was just 20 years old. He met Meredith Holmes (nee Davies) in 1983, and they married in 1985. The couple had their first child, Brett Holmes, on 19 July 1986. Their second child, Arthur Holmes, followed on 27 September 1989.
Education and Career
Frederick received his undergraduate degree in Earth Science from Oxford University in 1972. He then worked for the British Environment Agency until his retirement in 2010.
Meredith's Death
On 6 August 2016, his wife was unexpectedly and brutally murdered. Since the incident, reports say that he has been suffering from severe depression and alcoholism.
